Do you prefer to read the Bible on your own or with a group?

Let your voice be heard

Bible reading is an essential part of many people's spiritual practices, and it can be done alone or in a group. Both options have advantages and disadvantages, and the best approach depends on an individual's preferences and spiritual needs. Which do you prefer?

Reading the Bible alone provides an opportunity for personal introspection and reflection. You can read at your own pace without getting interrupted or distracted.  It is  more flexible, allowing you to decide what and when you read. Reading the Bible alone can sometimes lead to a limited perspective without the input of others.  You might make different interpretations or even incorrect ones without the input of others.

Reading in groups lets you participate in communal learning and interpretation. Everyone can share their perspective and insights, which enables you to learn from others. Group reading can provide consistency, as members can hold each other accountable for maintaining a regular reading practice. On the negative side, group reading can be distracting or overwhelming and can sometimes lead to disagreements and conflicts.  In addition, it may be challenging to process different perspectives, especially if they are different from your own.
